The short version

Everything you record in FlipSay — your voice, your friends' mimics, and Reaction Clip videos — stays on your iPhone. We never receive or store your recordings. The app shows ads and collects anonymized usage analytics, which is described honestly below.

Game recordings and Reaction Clips

Voice recordings (phrases and mimic attempts) are processed entirely on your device to reverse and score them, and are deleted when the round or game ends. They are never uploaded.
Speech recognition for scoring uses Apple's speech APIs. On-device recognition is used where available; where the device falls back to Apple's server-based recognition, audio is processed by Apple under Apple's privacy policy — not by us.
Reaction Clips (front-camera videos of the mimic moment) are optional and off by default. A visible REC indicator shows while filming. Clips are composed and stored only on your device, are cleaned up after the game, and leave your phone only if you share one yourself via the iOS share sheet.

What we do collect

Usage analytics (Google Firebase Analytics): anonymized events such as “game started” or “round completed”, device model and app version. This tells us which parts of the game work and which don't. It does not include your recordings or their contents.
Advertising (Google AdMob): FlipSay is free and shows ads between games. AdMob may use a device advertising identifier to serve and measure ads. Personalized advertising happens only if you allow tracking in the iOS App Tracking Transparency prompt; decline it and ads are non-personalized.
Attribution (Meta SDK): install attribution events so we can tell whether our own ads for FlipSay worked. Subject to the same tracking-permission choice.
Purchases: the one-time ad-removal purchase is processed by Apple. We receive a receipt confirmation, never your payment details.

What we never collect

No account, email, name, or contacts — there is nothing to sign up for.
No location data.
No voice recordings, videos, or their transcripts.

Permissions the app asks for

Microphone — to record phrases and mimic attempts. Core to the game.
Speech recognition — to score how close a mimic landed.
Camera — only if you enable Reaction Clips.
Tracking (ATT) — optional; only affects whether ads are personalized.

Children

FlipSay is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Data retention and your choices

Recordings and clips live only on your device and are removed by the app after each game (or by you, by deleting the app). Analytics events are retained by Firebase per Google's standard retention. You can reset your device advertising identifier or revoke tracking permission any time in iOS Settings → Privacy.
