For entertainment and self-reflection: Vela is an astrology app. Astrology is not science, and nothing in Vela is a prediction of real events or a statement of fact about your life, your health, your relationships, or your finances. Vela does not provide medical, psychological, legal, or financial advice. Never make a medical, legal, or financial decision on the basis of anything Vela shows you, and never use Vela in place of a qualified professional.
By downloading, installing, or using Vela ("the App"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
Vela computes astrological charts using real astronomical ephemeris mathematics and uses a large language model to write interpretations of those computed charts. The astronomy is real: planetary positions, house cusps, aspects, and transits are calculated from published astronomical algorithms and are accurate as astronomy.
The interpretation of those positions is astrology, which is a tradition of symbolic meaning, not a science. Vela makes no claim that any interpretation is true, predictive, or verifiable. The App is provided for entertainment, reflection, and personal interest only.
Chart accuracy depends entirely on the birth data you enter. An incorrect birth time, date, or place produces an incorrect chart. If you do not know your birth time, Vela produces a clearly labeled solar chart: it will not invent a birth time, and such a chart has no houses and no rising sign, while its Moon position carries meaningful uncertainty. Vela labels this rather than hiding it, but you remain responsible for the data you enter.
Written interpretations in Vela are generated by a large language model based on chart facts computed on your device. AI-generated text may be inconsistent, repetitive, or occasionally wrong. It is filtered before display, but no filter is perfect. Treat every reading as a prompt for reflection, never as a fact or an instruction.
Vela offers auto-renewing subscriptions purchased through your Apple ID:
Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase. Subscriptions renew automatically unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period, at the price listed above.
Managing and cancelling: You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time in iOS Settings under your Apple ID → Subscriptions, or via the link inside the App. Cancelling stops future renewals; it does not refund the current period. Deleting the App does not cancel your subscription.
Free trial: If you subscribe to the annual plan with a free trial, any unused portion of the trial is forfeited when you purchase a subscription. Only one trial per Apple ID.
Refunds: Purchases are handled by Apple. Refund requests are made to Apple through your purchase history; we cannot issue refunds directly.
Prices are in US dollars and may vary by region per Apple's pricing tiers. We may change subscription prices; changes apply to renewal periods after notice, and you may cancel before renewal if you do not accept a new price.
Some parts of Vela never require a subscription: your Sun, Moon, and rising reveal, the home-screen widget, and the daily notification line. Everything else — full charts, full daily readings, chart questions, and compatibility — requires an active subscription.
You agree not to reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the App; use the App to harass, defraud, or mislead anyone; enter another person's birth data without a reasonable basis to do so; or attempt to overload, probe, or abuse our backend.
The App, its design, its chart-drawing, its written content, and its software are owned by Scriptstash and protected by copyright and other laws. These Terms grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App, and nothing more.
Your birth data and readings are stored on your device, not on our servers. See our Privacy Policy for full detail. You are responsible for your own device backups; we cannot restore data we never held.
The App is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any interpretation it produces is accurate, meaningful, or suitable for any purpose.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Scriptstash shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for:
Our total liability to you shall not exceed the fees you paid to Scriptstash in the 12 months preceding the claim. Some jurisdictions do not allow limitation of liability, so this may not apply to you.
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Scriptstash and its officers, directors, employees, agents, and successors from and against any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your use of the App or violation of these Terms.
These Terms of Service are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any legal action or proceeding related to these Terms shall be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in California.
We may update these Terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated via an in-app notification. Your continued use of the App after changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.
