Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing and using Lumi ("Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, you may not use Lumi.

2. Service Description

Lumi is a family chore-tracking and rewards app designed to help parents manage household chores for their children. The Service includes:

• Parent account creation and family management
• Child device pairing via secure code
• Chore assignment and verification using AI photo analysis
• Rewards and gamification features
• Family screen time monitoring integration
• Push notifications for family engagement
• In-app subscription (Lumi Pro) for premium features

3. Eligibility

• You must be at least 18 years old and a legal parent or guardian to create a Lumi parent account
• Children using Lumi must be part of a family managed by an eligible parent account
• By creating an account, you represent and warrant that you meet these eligibility requirements

4. Account Responsibility

Parent Account Control

• You are responsible for all activity under your parent account, including all child devices paired with your family
• You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials
• You must immediately notify us at [email protected] if you believe your account has been compromised

Child Supervision

• As the account holder, you are responsible for supervising your children's use of Lumi
• You agree to monitor chore assignments, verification submissions, and in-app activities
• You are responsible for ensuring your child's device meets age-appropriate usage guidelines

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Submit fraudulent or fake chore verification photos
• Manipulate the AI verification system or attempt to bypass verification checks
• Use Lumi to harass, abuse, or harm other family members
• Attempt to reverse-engineer or hack Lumi's backend systems
• Use Lumi for any illegal or unauthorized purpose
• Violate any applicable laws or regulations
• Interfere with other users' accounts or access to the Service

Violation of these terms may result in account suspension or termination without refund.

6. Lumi Pro Subscription

Subscription Tiers and Pricing

Lumi Pro offers premium features via in-app subscription. Pricing and available tiers are displayed in the app and are subject to change with 30 days' notice.

Auto-Renewal

• Lumi Pro subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period
• Renewal charges appear on your Apple account statement
• Subscriptions are managed entirely through Apple's App Store

Free Trial

Annual subscriptions may include a 7-day free trial. The trial is non-refundable. If you cancel before the trial ends, you will not be charged. If you do not cancel, your subscription will renew and you will be charged at the end of the trial period.

Cancellation

To cancel Lumi Pro or manage your subscription:

• Open the App Store on your iOS device
• Tap your profile icon → Subscriptions
• Select Lumi and tap "Manage Subscription"
• Tap "Cancel Subscription"
• Your subscription will terminate at the end of the current billing period

7. Refunds

All refund requests are processed through Apple's standard App Store refund policy. Scriptstash does not issue refunds directly. To request a refund for Lumi Pro:

• Open the App Store on your iOS device
• Tap your profile icon → Purchase History
• Find the Lumi Pro purchase
• Tap "Report a Problem" and follow Apple's instructions

Apple will evaluate your request under its refund policies. Refunds typically require that the subscription was purchased within the last 14 days and you have not significantly used the service.

8. Intellectual Property

All content, features, and functionality of Lumi (including text, graphics, logos, icons, images, audio, and software code) are owned by Scriptstash or its licensors and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, modify, distribute, or transmit any content without our prior written consent.

9. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your account at any time, with or without cause, including if:

• You violate these Terms of Service
• You engage in fraudulent or malicious activity
• We are required to do so by law
• We discontinue the Service or a specific feature

Upon termination, your right to use Lumi immediately ceases. Any Lumi Pro payments made in the month of termination will not be refunded, except as required by law.

10. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability

AS-IS Service

Lumi is provided on an "AS-IS" and "AS-AVAILABLE" basis. We make no warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not guarantee that:

• Lumi will be error-free or uninterrupted
• Chore verification will be 100% accurate
• Screen time data will be complete or real-time
• Push notifications will be delivered reliably

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Scriptstash will not be liable for:

• Indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages
• Loss of profits, revenue, data, or business opportunities
• Damage to devices or loss of child data
• Any claim arising from use or inability to use Lumi

Our total liability to you shall not exceed the fees you paid to Scriptstash in the 12 months preceding the claim. Some jurisdictions do not allow limitation of liability, so this may not apply to you.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Scriptstash and its officers, directors, employees, agents, and successors from and against any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from:

• Your use of Lumi or violation of these Terms
• Your infringement of any intellectual property or other rights
• Your violation of any applicable law
• Fraudulent or malicious use of your account

12. Governing Law

These Terms of Service are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any legal action or proceeding related to these Terms shall be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in California.

13. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated via email or in-app notification. Your continued use of Lumi after changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.
